PPA 197 Sketch Challenge

I thought I'd play along with this week's Paper Pal Arts Sketch Challenge PPA 197.  This card was one of the projects for this weekend's stamp meeting.  I've been wanting use some of the Retro Fresh DSP.  I used all of the colors from the DSP in the design of the card.

Up! Up! and Away!

Happy Birthday, Troy!  His birthday was yesterday, but we didn't see him until tonight; so late post of his card.  I used lots of different pieces from the scrap bag to create this fun hot air balloon card.

Accessories: Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots TIEF, Top Note die, 1-3/4" circle punch, oval punch, cupcake builder punch, word window punch, hemp twine

Before framelits were launched the Top Note die was my favorite Big Shot accessory.  I still love this die, but now there's competition.  Very little stamping on this card (except the greeting).

Classic Car

I needed a birthday card for a brother-in-law.  He loves old cars and motorcycles.  I thought he'd get a kick from an old classic.

I used some Crystal Effects on the headlights, windshield and windows of the car to make them look more like glass.

Redeeming my Free Set

Erin Go Braugh

Did you know the phrase "Erin Go Braugh" translates to Ireland Forever?  Just wanted to share a little Irish trivia for you on St. Patrick's Day.  Being a wee bit of an Irish lass, I'm wearing green today.  Of course, only in Chicago would we dye the Chicago River a lovely Emerald Green.  That done was on Saturday along with the big parade.  Here are some images to share with you of this special day.

Pinch Proof Candy Holder

Once again, I'm using my favorite punch to make a fun little candy holder.  The picture is a little blurry, I need to figure out how to take better pictures with my phone.

Stamp Set: Pinch Proof
Cardstock: Gumball Green and Whisper White
Ink: Gumball Green
Accessories: Scallop Tag Topper punch, 1-3/8" circle punch, 3/8" stitched Gumball Green satin ribbon, dimensionals, sticky strip

This candy holder is so easy to make.  Here are the directions:

1 strip c/s cut at 2" x 6-1/2" score at 2-3/4" and 3-3/4" 
insert both ends into the Scallop Tag Topper punch

2 pieces c/s cut at 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" score two side at 1/4"
on the 1/4" sides use sticky strip 

Place the smaller c/s pieces into the the larger folded strip.  They will form the sides of the box.  Decorate box as desired.  Use about 5" of ribbon to close the box.  Fill with candy and enjoy!
