Today is Chinese New Year's Day. It's the Year of the Fire Horse. Every year I make a special card for my mother.
Here's what to expect:
While the Lunar New Year always brings celebration, this one carries extra cosmic weight. The Horse returns every 12 years, but the Fire Horse only appears once every 60 years — the last time was 1955 — making 2026 a rare, high-voltage turning point in the Chinese calendar.
Fire is the most Yang of all five elements, so it’s safe to say that 2026 will not be a quiet year. On the contrary, the Fire Horse brings boldness, speed, passion and momentum. Expect fast-moving developments, courageous choices and life-altering pivots. This is a year that brings you back in motion.
For my card I used:
Stamps - Reason to Celebrate, Unbridled Beauty
Ink - VersaMark
Paper - Brushed Gold, Real Red
Tools - Stamp Cut 'n Emboss machine, Everyday Arches dies, Cane Weave 3D embossing folder, gold emboss powder, heat tool
